Advantageous licenses to work in chemical companies in Japan (1)

Effective licenses in Japanese chemical plants (1)

Here, I will introduce advantageous licenses to work in chemical companies in Japan.

They may work generally well at job-hunting and don't always work effectively.

[Hazardous Material Engineer]

For instance, a job-opening for a petrochemical plant needs “Hazardous Material Engineer Grade B-4”

(危物取扱者乙種4類, きけんぶつ とりあつかいしゃ おつしゅ よん るい Kikenbutsu toriatsukaisha otsushu yon rui), so-called “Otsu-yon” in Japanese.

"Otsu-yon" is a basic license among workers in Japanese chemical plants.

Also, the highest grade of “Hazardous Material Engineer” is Grade A (甲種, こうしゅ, Koushu).

Having it is considered as a good educated person in the case of high school graduates level job-hunter.

[Hight Pressure Gas Production Safety Management Certificate]

If it has high pressure gas facilities in the plant, “Hight Pressure Gas Production Safety Management Certificate Grade B chemical management or Grade B mechanical management” (高圧ガス製造保安責任者乙種化学責任者/乙種機械責任者, こうあつがす せいぞうほあん せきにんしゃ おつしゅ かがく せきにんしゃ / おつしゅ きかい せきにんしゃ, Kouatsugasu seizouhoan sekininsha otsushu kagaku sekininsha/ otsushu kikai sekininsha) may be needed.

[Boiler Engineer]

The plant which has boilers has to assign the legally defined number of labours having Boiler Engineer license.

There are Grade-1 and Grade-2, but Grade-2 is enough, tentatively.
